At the July 13, Town Board Meeting, Anthony LoBiondo was sworn in as Town of Newburgh Councilman by Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio. The swearing in ceremony was held remotely using Zoom technology. Attending the ceremony in person were LoBiondo’s wife and law partner, Juliana LoBiondo and his son, Michael LoBiondo.

“We are pleased to have Anthony on the Town Board,” said Piaquadio. “He brings experience and a commitment to the community, having been a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh.”

Anthony LoBiondo is an attorney, business owner, and lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh. LoBiondo has been an attorney since 1991. He served as a prosecutor in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office from 1991 to 1997, including time as the Office Supervisor of the City of Newburgh satellite office. He has been in private practice since 1997, and is currently a trial attorney at LoBiondo Law Offices in Newburgh, NY, a firm which he co-owns with his wife, Juliana LoBiondo.

In addition to his numerous legal activities, LoBiondo is the Vice President and a founding member of America Rows and Swims Newburgh, a not for profit organization which provides free learn to swim classes, after school rowing programs and summer camp opportunities for children in Newburgh. He is also a founder of the LoBiondo Family Foundation which provides an annual scholarship to a graduating senior at Newburgh Free Academy. He is an active volunteer with St. Mary’s Outreach which provides more than two tons of free food each month to community members. He is a member of the United States Air Force Academy Parents Club, the Don Bosco Prep Father’s Club and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Rights Society and the Newburgh Rowing Club.

LoBiondo resides in the Town of Newburgh with his wife of 22 years and law partner, Juliana LoBiondo. They have two sons. Christian LoBiondo is a Cadet Second Class at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. Their son, Michael LoBiondo, is a junior at Don Bosco Preparatory High School.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be appointed as Town of Newburgh Councilman,” said LoBiondo. “I will devote myself wholeheartedly to the position and will give careful consideration to all matters before the Board and to continue the tradition that has made us the Town of Newburgh.”

He replaces James Presutti on the town board. Presutti resigned last month to become the town’s commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.
