The Hyde Park Field of Honor opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 25, at 10:00 a.m. At the ceremony, the Hyde Park Education Foundation Teacher Grants will be awarded, as well as the fourth annual Senior Scholarship. All events at the Field of Honor® are free to the public, and open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The Hyde Park Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit group, whose mission is to provide financial resources to individual schools and district-wide programs and activities that encourage and enhance the educational opportunities and well-being of the students of the Hyde Park Central School District. Since its re-establishment in 2017, the HPEF has organized drives to collect donations for the Hygiene Closets at several of the Hyde Park Schools, raised money for Teacher Grants, which awarded over $15,000 to teachers for special programs in their classrooms, distributed more than $5000 to all the schools for "special projects", and awarded Senior Scholarships totalling $3,500.
At the HPEF website, https://www.HydeParkEducationFoundation.org , flags can be purchased or dedicated; click on “HOW TO DONATE”. Each flag purchased can be labeled in memory or in honor of a veteran, a fallen soldier, or anyone the buyer wishes to remember. If you or your business would like to make a sponsorship donation, please visit the website or send an email to HPEF12538@gmail.com for more information. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Hyde Park Education Foundation.
