The Town of New Windsor approved to hold a public hearing on May 1, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall to introduce a local law to amend Chapter 280 of the Town Code and add a section to Article 1 entitled “Off-Road Vehicles Prohibited”.

With the warmer months fast approaching, ATVs and off-road vehicles have become a concern once again for elected officials and police departments. “We’re trying to pass an ATV, off-road vehicle town code, give the police department a little more teeth and flexibility to deal with these offenders that are riding on town roads if you will,” said Town Supervisor Stephen Bedetti.
