Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-Newburgh) announced that the Mid-Hudson Library System has been allocated $314,311 in state aid for library construction funds. The funds will fund three needed projects, including:

Highland Public Library - $8,525 to replace damaged digital signs

Marlboro Free Library - $297,575 to reconfigure the public service desk area for greater efficiency and accessibility

Mid-Hudson Library System - $8,211 to install four Electric Vehicle charging stations at its Poughkeepsie headquarters

Jacobson said, “I was proud to vote “yes” for this year’s State Budget, because it includes funding for so many important initiatives and organizations like the local libraries. I am particularly happy to support our libraries because they have evolved to provide a wide range of critical services to community residents of all ages.”

These funds are from $34 million in capital funds for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects provided in the FY2022-2023 New York State Budget.
