Lloyd Legion to host Memorial Day Service

Members of the Lloyd American Legion Post in Highland decided not to have the Annual Memorial Day Parade this year. After much discussion, the Legion Members decided that to protect the safety of participants and spectators of the parade and cancel the Highland Memorial Day Parade this year. We regret having to make that decision but in the interest of everyone we had to make it. To honor our fallen Veterans, the members of the American Legion placed over 1,200 American Flags and grave markers on veterans graves at all Cemeteries in the Town of Lloyd.

On May 31 starting at 9 a.m., members of the American Legion and, Highland Hose Company will be escorted by the Lloyd Police to the Lloyd and Highland Cemetery, the Veterans Memorial on Milton Avenue, Johnson Iorio Park and the Village Square. The firing squad and Color guards will honor our fallen veterans. The military ceremony will be concluded with a Memorial Service at the Calvary Chapel Church on Main Street Highland approximately 10:15 a.m.

All residents are welcome to attend the tribute to our fallen veterans. They are asked to adhere to all Covid safety requirements.
