The local teams were eliminated from the Cal Ripken Baseball Southern New York Tournaments on July 5 in four age groups.

The Marlboro 9U team opened the day at Crown Heights Park in Poughkeepsie, losing their game to New Paltz. They had beaten New Paltz the day before.

Highland was eliminated from the 10U bracket when they suffered a 14-4 loss to East Fishkill Grey in the semifinals in the bottom of the fifth inning. Highland managed to stave off the 10-run rule in the fourth inning scoring a few runs but were unable to hold off East Fishkill in the fifth.

Marlboro was eliminated from the 11U tournament by an 18-8 loss to Kingston.

A day after eliminating Marlboro, Highland was eliminated from the 12U bracket by a 9-3 loss to East Fishkill Blue.

The Marlboro and Highland 8U teams will take place in the Southern New York tournament, starting Thursday.
