Those looking for a makeover can now get one in the Town of Montgomery.
The Business Council of Greater Montgomery held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday at NY Beauty Bar, located at 1067 NY-17K. They offer teeth-whitening, microblading, waxing, massages and can also do customers’ makeup among other services.

Though the Montgomery location opened two months ago, the business has been operating for years. They were mobile for the first year before operating in a small office for approximately six months in Middletown. For the next six years they were located at 940 NY-17K until they renovated and moved into their current location.

Owner Salen Diep has several goals she hopes to accomplish through her business. Diep grew up in Brooklyn and has been a Town of Montgomery resident for nine years.

“I’m hoping to give jobs to the local community,” she said. “Bring beauty to the local community and do as much as I can to be proactive locally as a business owner and as an inspiration.”

Montgomery Town Supervisor Brian Maher was excited to welcome NY Beauty Bar to the town’s business community.

“This business means so much to the Town of Montgomery for two reasons,” Maher said. “One, we have an unbelievable Town of Montgomery resident who has decided to become an entrepreneur and invest in our local town with an amazing salon. The second thing that really makes it different and unique is this individual took a dilapidated, eyesore of a building on one of the main gateways into our town and transformed it into a beautiful destination.”
