Lloyd sets roadwork schedule for 2024

Each year in late winter, the Lloyd Town Board receives a list of town roads from Highway Superintendent Rich Klotz that his department plans to work on in the coming year. It is called a 284 Agreement and this year the Town Board approved $788,608 for paving, repairs, improvements and other items such as fuel, piping, stone and sand by the Highway Department. This amount is part of the department’s total budget of about $2.185 million.

A half-a mile of road from VanWagoner Road leading to DallVechia will receive a ‘Baby Binder’ as a base that will be 22 feet wide and 2 inches in thickness. It will overlay the road with regrading and drainage done as needed, with chip sealing done at a later date at a cost of $14,600.

From Van Wagoner to a cul-de-sac, a distance of .16 of a mile, will receive a 12.5 mm blacktop, at a width of 24 feet and a 2 inch thickness at a cost of $36,600, with regrading and drainage done as needed and chip sealing set for a later date.

From Highland Avenue to Hasbrouck Avenue, a distance of .06 of a mile, will receive a Baby Binder at 22 feet wide and 2 inch think for a cost of $12,348, with regrading and drainage done as needed and chip sealing at a later date.

Starting on Milton Avenue and going .24 of a mile to Vineyard Avenue will receive a 12.5 mm top coat at 24 feet wide and a thickness of 2 inches will cost $67,700. They will mill out 2 inches and replace it with 2 inches 12.5 mm of blacktop along with grading and drainage done as needed.

Starting at Grand Street and going to the dead end, a distance of .07 of a mile, will receive a Baby Binder at a width of 20 feet and a thickness of 2 inches at a cost of $17,246.50. They will mill and profile the road and replace it with the 2 inch baby binder, with grading and drainage done as needed.

On River Road to the cul-de-sac, a distance of .17 of a mile will receive a Baby Binder at a width of 20 feet and 2 inches thick and cost $51,245. They will mill and profile the road with grading and drainage done as needed.

Toc Drive will receive 12.5mm of blacktop at 24 feet wide at 1 inch thickness for a distance of .23 of a mile. They will True & Level the road with the asphalt and top it at a later date as well as do drainage work as needed for a total cost of $31,160.

Starting at Oakes Road to a cul-de-sac for .50 miles, there will be Baby Binder at 20 ft wide and 2 inches thick and a top coat at a later date with drainage work done as needed at a cost of $87,600.

The final road improvement will start at Route 299 and lead to the New Paltz town line for a distance of 1.29 miles and have 12.5mm of blacktop on a width of 24 ft and a thickness of 1 inch. Drainage will be done as needed. A top coat will be set in place at a later date for a total cost of $185,744.
