Maher leads Marlboro at Iron Duke relays

Victoria Maher won three events, leading all Marlboro athletes at the Iron Duke Relays on Friday night at Marlboro High School.

In two of those events, she went No. 1 and No. 2 with teammate Juliana Juras. They finished first and second in the girls’ discus with respective throws of 126-11 and 107-00. Maher also threw a 134-08 to win the hammer throw, with Juras finishing second by reaching 130-08.

Maher also won the girls’ javelin throw by reaching 107-11. Zach Morales won the boys’ javelin throw, reaching 107-11.

Sean Robertson won the boys’ pole vault by reaching 13-0, as the Iron Dukes placed three athletes in the top eight. Makai Broughton and Devin Robertson were sixth and seventh, each clearing 8-6. Timber Jackson and Eliana Beaulieu were fifth and sixth in the girls’ pole vault.

Daniel Maher won the boys’ 400-meter dash with a time of 52.21 seconds.

Nnadozie Okasi won the boys’ long jump, reaching 21-2 and Stella Delfini was fourth in the girls’ long jump with a 14-7.25. Jackson’s 14-7 was good enough for fifth place. Okasi was second in the boys’ triple jump, reaching 41-8.

Marlboro also placed second in the boys’ and girls’ 400-meter relay events. The team of Daniel Maher, Sean Robertson, Connor Baxter and Okasi finished in 44.80, while Fallon Grace, Khalia Moore, Beaulieu and Claudassa Sanon finished the girls’ race in 54.31.

Juras was second in the girls’ shot put with a throw of 33-5.0. Xhara-Lee Wilmot and Amelia Doddo were third and fifth, respectively.
The Iron Dukes placed three runners in the top eight of the 100-meter dash as both Daniel Maher and Nnadozie Okasi placed second and third with times of 11.45 seconds and 11.51, respectively. Robertson was eighth in 12.08 seconds.

Jaiden Sawyer was third in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles.
Andrea Kuha was fourth in the girls’ 2,000-meter steeplechase, finishing the grueling event with a time of 9:30.92.

Eliana Beaulieu was sixth in the girls’ high jump, reaching 4-4.
Robert Jackson, III, was eighth in the boys’ 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.13. He also finished eighth in the boys’ 1,600-meter run in 4:51.67.
