Winter Bird Feeder Watch

Mohonk Preserve

Posted

Learn about a winter-long program that you can do from your window at home! Join Christy Belardo, Mohonk Preserve Education Coordinator, and learn about the birds that love to visit your house feeders. Learn how to identify birds, record your observations, and submit online! Binoculars will be provided, or you may bring your own. You can become a Citizen Scientist by taking the observations you make at your feeders and submit them online to a National Database called Project FeederWatch. At the end of the program, take home a bird seed pinecone to begin welcoming birds to your window! Children ages 6 and up are welcome. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. No registration required. This is a free program.
