Easter Egg Hunt returns to Wallkill this Saturday
Ready your baskets: The Wallkill Lions Club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, March 30 at 9 a.m. on the Walkill Public Library’s lawn. The club invites children of all ages for free to collect oodles of eggs, win bags full of sweets, and take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Wallkill Public Library presents ‘Jack Frost: Snow Kidding!’
Join the Wallkill Public Library for a special event to wrap up the March holiday week! On Saturday, March 30, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., head to the Town Hall Community Room for a FREE family-fun variety show, “Jack Frost: Snow Kidding!” hosted by David Engel.

Get ready for wintertime fun as Jack Frost, the world’s premiere polar prankster and renowned ice artist, comes to town! Suitable for ages 4 and up, this heartwarming production promises laughter and joy for all.

Registration is required and can be done on the Wallkill Public Library website at wallkillpubliclibrary.org.

Gardiner Library hosts Paleontology Program
Gardiner Library hosts a Paleontology Program presented by the Hudson Highlands Nature Center on Saturday March 30, 1-2 p.m.

Meet live animals! Discover how scientists read stories in the rocks. Learn about predecessors and descendants of those extinct giants. More information available on the online calendar at www.gardinerlibrary.org.

The library is located at 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.

Maybrook VFW presents Saturday Nite DJ and Pizza Party
The Maybrook Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) announces the upcoming Saturday Nite DJ and Pizza Party, a lively event set to take place on Saturday, March 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Maybrook VFW located at 29 Main Street.
DJ Heidi Goff will be spinning tunes, creating an electrifying atmosphere for partygoers to enjoy.

The event will feature a cash bar and a 50/50 raffle Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Maybrook VFW and its initiatives. Your participation and contributions will make a meaningful impact, especially in assisting veterans who need our support.

Admission is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 845-427-5881.

The VFW is located at 29 Main Street.


Crawford Historical Society seeks contributions for archive expansion
The Town of Crawford Historical Society is embarking on a mission to enrich its archives, aiming to safeguard the community’s rich history and support local research endeavors. They are calling upon residents to contribute any old maps, photographs, documents, or items related to the Town of Crawford or Pine Bush Schools.

The society welcomes donations to expand their collection, which serves as a vital resource for preserving the area’s heritage and fostering a deeper understanding of its past. Those interested in contributing are encouraged to reach out to the Town Archives via email at CommunityServices2@TownofCrawford.org. Crawford hosts Mobile DMV Unit
Orange County Clerk Kelly Eskew is pleased to extend a warm invitation to all residents of Orange County to utilize the services of the Orange County Mobile DMV Unit. This convenient service brings essential DMV transactions directly to the community, offering ease and accessibility for all.

The Orange County Mobile DMV Unit will be stationed at Crawford Town Hall, located at 121 Rt. 302, Pine Bush, NY 12566, on Monday, April 8th. The unit will operate during the following hours: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. It is closed for lunch between 12 and 1 p.m. A comprehensive range of DMV transactions will be offered, including:
• All registration transactions
• All license transactions, including real/enhanced
• Enforcement transactions
This initiative aims to streamline the process of essential DMV tasks, eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances or endure lengthy wait times. Whether it’s renewing a registration, obtaining a driver’s license, or addressing enforcement-related matters, the Orange County Mobile DMV Unit is equipped to handle all transactions efficiently and professionally.

Upcoming events from Vision of Wallkill
Mark your calendars for several upcoming events hosted by Vision of Wallkill in the Hamlet of Wallkill. This year’s Town Wide Yard Sale will be April 27th.

Our 3rd annual Duck Derby will be May 11th with activities starting at 12 p.m. and the duck race starting at 3 p.m.

Our free summer Rhythm on the River concert series begins July 11. More information on these events and Duck Derby ticket sale information can be found on Facebook at Vision of Wallkill, our instagram site, and visionofwallkill.com.

Wallkill’s clean sweep is coming
Wallkill (Town of Shawangunk) will be having its 14th annual Clean Sweep on April 13, 2024. Volunteers are needed! Clean Sweep is an event where volunteers sign up to clean up trash along roadsides; in Wallkill there is also a river cleanup using kayaks.

All ages are welcome and students can receive community service hours.
