Easter Egg Hunt rescheduled for Saturday

Congratulations to the winners of Walden’s 2024 Village Election: Becky Pearson; Bill Taylor and Liz Kyle, The winners will be sworn in on April 1.

Beginning March 25 at 7 p.m. and continuing through April 3 at 5 p.m. the 3rd floor of Village Hall will be closed for renovations. Staff from the 3rd floor will be located in the 2nd floor Community Room during this time. Make sure to use the drop box outside the front door to Village Hall for any payments or correspondence. Sorry for any inconvenience while this necessary work is completed.


M. P. B. Knights of Columbus Council No. 9254 sends word that they will hold a Lent is Over Pork Dinner on Friday, April 5 - $10 each. Pre Orders and Take out only. Leave a message by 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 with your order at 845-972-2303 to reserve your dinners. You will be put on the list. Leave your name, phone number and number of meals. Pick up at M.P.B., Fr. Sullivan Hall. between 5 - 6 p.m.

Due to inclement weather the date has been changed for the Walden’s Recreation and Parks Dept. to hold their Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10 a.m. at James W. Olley Community Park, 97 Sherman Avenue.

Bring your basket and meet the Easter Bunny! Participants will be split into the following age groups: 0 - 4 years; 5 - 7 years and 8 - 11 years. Prizes for the 2 children in each group who find the GOLDEN egg! Fun for the whole family!

On Saturday, March 30, 9 a.m. - 12 noon Wallkill Masonic Lodge No 627 invites you to attend breakfast with our fire, police and Ambulance Corps. at Wallkill Masonic Lodge, 61 Main Street, Walden. Come out for a hot breakfast and meet and greet your first responders.

Children and Seniors eat free. All others a $10 donation please..They have a chair lift.

On Sunday, March 31, the Walden Fire Department will host an Easter Breakfast of the Fire house, 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. Seniors - $20. Age 2 and under - free: age 3 - 11 - $10: 12 and over - $12. Pictures with the Easter Bunny available.

The Walden Community Council will meet on Wednesday, April 10 at the Josephine Louise Public Library at 6:30 p.m. to continue with plans for Walden’s 37th Annual Harvest Festival on September 28, 2024. This event will be held in Walden’s Municipal Square.. You will be entertained by live music, vendors, food, Angry Orchard, frog jumping contest, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Child ID, free petting zoo, bounce houses for kids and more. Join the Walden Community Center on Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the John Howland Youth Center, 89 East Main Street, Walden for their annual Spring Bazaar. St. Andrew’s Church, Walden and St. Francis of Assisi Church, Montgomery will host the second annual Community Peeps Diorama Contest on Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

Community members are invited to create scene representing the communities of Walden, Montgomery and surrounding areas using marshmallow Peeps as characters Gather a box in any size, get creative and build a scene that embodies the spirit of community We have categories for kids, teens, adults, businesses and organizations/groups and great prizes from Sweeter Than Sweet Cupcakes.

The Village of Walden Recreation and Parks Department has begun registration for Tennis Lessons that will tentatively begin in May and will run for five weeks at the Village Tennis Courts at Bradley Park (48 Samuel E. The Josephine-Louise Public Library sends the following news
Are you ready for the Solar Eclipse event on April 8? Professor Thomas Blon, SUNY Orange, will join us on Thursday, April 4, 6:30 p.m. to present an eclipse overview including safety, eclipse science, what will be visible in Walden, and photography hints.
