Iris C. Bellarosa of Wallkill,a longtime resident of the area, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2021, peacefully at her home in Wallkill.  She was 97. 

The daughter of the late Clifford and Estella Lipsett Caswell, she was born September 13, 1923 in Newburgh.

Iris was a lifetime member of the Wallkill Reformed Church, serving on the Woman’s Guild. She was also a member of the Historical Society of Wallkill & Gardiner. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Her passions included flowers, watching birds, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She was the widow of Thomas P. Bellarosa.

Survivors include her daughter's Tammi B. VanKleeck & husband Brian R. VanKleeck of Wallkil; Lee A. Barletta Wallkill, and former son-in-law Jack F. Barletta of Maybrook; Grand Daughters Chelsea M. VanKleeck & fiancé Jonathan E. Mazurek of North Clarendon, VT , Brooke A. VanKleeck of Lockport, IL & Ashley L. Barletta of Monroe; sisters-in-law Estelle Caswell of Palmyra, VA; Delia Bellarosa of Saugerties, brother Blair J. Caswell and wife Margery D. Caswell of Port St. Lucie, FL and numerous nieces & nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brother  Clifford H. Caswell and sister Audrey M. Caswell

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 17, at 3 p.m, at Wallkill Reformed Church, 45 Bridge St., WallkillY. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, Hospice, Walden Humane Society, Historical Society of Wallkill or Wallkill Reformed Church.
