Pine Bush-Monticello earned a berth in the bracket championship game by opening the tournament with a win.

Game 3: Wallkill Area 7, Warwick-Greenwood Lake 2

Emma Hunt pitched a complete game, leading Wallkill Area to victory with four strikeouts, and hit two singles, a triple and scored two runs.

Lilian Kilpatrick singled three times and scored a run. Ariana Reyes doubled and walked, while Kasey Garzione singled. Kendra DeGroat singled twice and scored two runs. Emily Arteta singled and scored two runs.

Game 5: Pine Bush-Monticello 8,

Wallkill Area 1

Avery Ogden got the win for Pine Bush-Monticello in the circle as Pine Bush advanced to the championship bracket.

Lillian Kilpatrick led Wallkill Area with two singles and a stolen base and Ava O’Flaherty pitched four innings, and singled and scored Wallkill’s only run. Emma Hunt, Kasey Garzione and Emily Arteta walked.

The District 19 Little League tournaments got underway last week with the beginning of the Majors softball tournament.
The Majors softball division tournament saw the combined Pine Bush-Monticello team win two games to win Bracket A and advanced to this week’s championship bracket.

They opened the tournament with a rout of Washingtonville and then defeated neighboring Wallkill Area to win the bracket.

Wallkill Area dropped to the lower bracket, where they were eliminated from the tournament by a 6-4 loss to Warwick-Greenwood Lake.

Montgomery lost its first game of the tournament to Warwick. They went to the lower bracket, where they advanced with a win over Middletown before falling to Warwick-Greenwood Lake.

Tournament action picks up this week with the championship bracket for Majors softball, while Senior Baseball and Major baseball tournaments will begin.
