The Pine Bush Little League Minors softball team continued to succeed last week by winning the Section 3 North championship and clinching a berth in the upcoming state tournament.

The state tournament is the highest level of competition for the division this year as the division’s regionals and World Series tournaments were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall, Pine Bush went 3-0 to win three-team tournament.

They defeated District 20 champion Eastchester, 7-1, on Thursday at New City Little League to win the tournament. They had previously beaten Eastchester on July 11 to open the tournament.

Pine Bush also defeated District 18 champion New City, 5-1, to advance to the championship game.

Pine Bush advanced to the state tournament, which was scheduled to begin on Tuesday. The tournament is hosted by Brighton Little League, just south of Rochester.

They will play in the Empire Division with four other teams and will play four pool play games until Saturday.
The semifinals and finals are scheduled for Sunday.
