Some local District 19 teams saw their seasons end last week, while other divisions kicked off with Sunday action.

The Town of Wallkill baseball team advanced the furthest of all local teams in the Majors tournament, reaching the final game of the Bracket B elimination bracket, before seeing their run end by a 2-1 loss to Minisink Valley.

They picked up wins over Goshen, Middletown before losing to Washingtonville.
Pine Bush and Wallkill Area went 0-2 in Bracket A.

Wallkill Area was the only local team to enter the Senior Division and suffered an early loss to Cornwall. Wallkill Area rebounded to stave off elimination by routing Monroe-Woodbury. However, their run ended Sunday by a 12-8 loss to Minisink Valley.

The Minors (8/10) division began play on Sunday with several local teams in action. Montgomery suffered a 10-0 loss to Warwick in its Bracket A opener, and Warwick advanced to play Wallkill Area on Monday. Montgomery played Washingtonville in an elimination game.

Town of Wallkill opened the tournament by pounding Otisville in a Bracket C opener.

The Minors 11U division and the Juniors division began play this week.

Town of Wallkill routed Otisville in their first game of the tournament and advanced to Monday’s game against Chester to win the bracket.
