By Robert Davis, Gardiner
Sadly another accident has occurred last week at the intersection of state route 44/55 and Bruynswick Road in the Town of Gardiner. A petition I started on change.org has gathered close to 1500 signatures in support of a traffic signal. A traffic analysis conducted by the county has named it the most dangerous intersection in the county and indicated the need for a signal. A Gardiner firefighter lost his life tragically at the intersection. A young Walden police officers life was cut short. The evidence by the analysis is clear. Yet we hear crickets from the New York State Department of Transportation. They continuously ignore calls for action from residents and local elected officials. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
