Walden UMC welcomes a new pastor

Posted

I would like to take this occasion to thank everyone for all their 90th birthday wishes and for the honor bestowed upon me by Village officials by announcing the proposed Walden Community Center at Olley Park will be named “The Anita Louise Vandermark Community Center”. I am truly blessed to have been a Walden resident for 69+ years.

Sending a warm welcome to Pastor Kihun Choi, the new pastor of the Walden United Methodist Church.

Pastor Choi was born and raised in South Korea. In 2009, Pastor Choi almost lost all of his hearing during an army file training. By the grace and love of God, he was able to experience the restoration of his hearing. This powerful experience led Pastor Choi to follow his calling and attend the seminary in order to become a pastor to proclaim God’s love just as he had experienced during his service in the army.

During his service as an assistant pastor at Chungdong Church English Ministry, Pastor Choi had the privilege to worship and praise God alongside other believers from all over the world. He then moved to the United States to study at and graduate from Drew University earning a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) Degree.

Pastor Choi is passionate about cultivating the divine spark in people through creative worship. Pastor Choi and his wife Minah, have been married since 2017. They have a son named Elon Rowoon Choi.

Let’s all give Pastor Choi and his family a warm welcome.

It’s time to send Happy Birthday greetings to two special neighbors. Tag and Stephanie Williamson are looking forward to celebrating their birthdays on July 30.
May it be the best ever!
