The Josephine-Louise Public Library of Walden is proud and happy to announce that service is back as of June 1, 2021! The library is once again offering in person services, browsing, computer access, faxing, study areas and programs. Appointments are no longer necessary and our hours have returned to normal. Masks are required to enter the library to ensure the safety of all our patrons and staff.

We look forward to seeing all of our library friends and welcoming new library users. Check out the latest bestseller books, our extensive collection of audio books on CDs, the latest DVDs, and “staff picks”. The Children’s Librarians are anxiously waiting to help with summer reading and recommendations. Take advantage of the numerous magazines we subscribe to as well as the Wallkill Valley Times, The New York Times, and the Times-Herald Record newspapers. Your Walden library card gives you access to our digital content such as e-books, e-audios, databases, and streaming services. We also have a Museum Pass program for Walden cardholders that allow access to seven museums in and around New York City and the Hudson Valley.

The Summer Reading Programs are underway offering activities in the park and in house programs for all ages! Our popular programs for infants and toddlers include Baby Rhyme Time and Musical Story Time. Classic Movie Night and the Chess Club are back in action. The teens have organized a new “Magic” related card club that will begin in August. We will be enjoying “Little Shop of Horrors” on July 30, 6:00 p.m. Stop by and pick up our monthly calendar of events and stay connected through our Facebook page and Instagram. Keep track of all the great learning opportunities made available to our community. The Library Board of Trustees, staff and friends of the Josephine-Louise Public Library invite everyone to stop by and learn about the many services of our fully reopened library.
