I agree fully with Ms. Dagaev’s statements re: useless spending, as she stated in last week’s newspaper. Highland Falls needs to entice new business; a kids’ splash pad and amphitheater will do nothing toward this end. It would not appear that well-established businesses need grants. “Favors for Friends”? New funds could be used so many other ways: enhancing facades and interiors of existing stores to render them attractively ‘move-in’ ready for new business start-ups. Empty store fronts just make the town appear shabby and unwelcoming. What has happened to the plan for the sorely needed, new hotel in Highland Falls?
