On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Fort Montgomery State Historic Site (690 Rt. 9W, Fort Montgomery), learn what it was like to prepare for winter in the 18th and 19th Centuries. From pickling to drying to salting and smoking, presenter Tom Hunt will discuss and demonstrate many of the techniques used in food preservation. The program includes a hands-on component for children!
